But they usually do it after they lay. They do sometimes do it before but I’ve always felt they were announcing they were about to lay.

I only notice mine doing it before, sometimes they'll do it on the way to the coop to lay their egg.

Rags was acting fine yesterday but today he wont eat. not even with applesauce and molasses added.

but why do chickens "sing a egg song"

From what I understand, they're like golden retrievers, but smaller and higher energy. They're super friendly and happy, but have an extremely high prey drive, and if I wanted to train them not to each chickens, it would take someone with training experience. (Why I'm not convincing my parents to get one right now)

Yep, corgis are smol, with short little stubby legs. Not tiny, but much smaller than most of my preferred dog breeds.
