Farm chatter

I have a job with my neighbor walking their puppy, so I get some money from that. I didn't have an allowance for YEARS until my parents automated it- I totally recommend Greenlight as a way to automate your money. I have a card that I can use and it's linked to an app on my phone. My dad has it rigged to automatically give me allowance if I do my chores.

Also, Jade and Duckie, I'm sure that you could sell eggs, you have SO many chickens!

They’ll pick up their egg eating habits again. I don’t want that.
I feed mine eggs all the time and they’ve never egg eaten. Besides, wouldn’t the shell cause it more since it looks the most like an egg? As opposed to the insides and maybe no shell then they wouldn’t know where it came from.

They're large, so therefore need lots of space and maintenance, and I don't think that I'd be able to ride them every day to give them enough exercise and make sure that they're good at being ridden
Lots of people don’t ride theirs! ❤️🥰

I don’t think that necessarily makes extra work. I think it might be easier actually cause they have less attitude and sass 😂🤣 though of course they do need more space, more food, poop more, but besides that it’s not really a ton more work than a little horse I wouldn’t think. It’s all the same care. Just varying amounts of stuff. Maybe more shampoo and time grooming 😂🤔 @Overo Mare ? 🤔

Ponies and minis are the most work. Their hooves and teeth seem to need more maintenance. They also are usually higher risk for founder, so need to be monitored when sugar content is up.

That being said, drafts sometimes have a proclivity to IR too. Usually more common when older though. Some farriers will charge extra for a draft, because trimming is more work and because they are more dangerous to work with if they are unruly. Drafts do eat more, yes.

I'm not sure what the original argument here is/was, but if I had to pick between pony/mini or draft, I'd pick draft all day every day.

No I meant food, grooming and money lol. Drafts have amazing temperaments.
