@black_cat, I like your photos!

I did all of my camera photography back in "the old days," ie, with film. I know next to nothing about digital cameras, or any editing program. So here is my antiquated knowledge.

Get as much as you can right when you take the picture. Focus, color balance, exposure. The less you have to edit, the better the digital information will be.

I used to have to do it in a dark room. Can't change the focus there. If the exposure was wrong, well, there was only so much you could do to help it along. You can't put information (grains of silver on the film) where there wasn't any to begin with.

Color... oh, my, I could spend a long time with the color, but most of the time was processing the print. My photography prof said the right color balance was when you got most separation between colors that are close together. Meaning, for example, a wash of cyan over the whole print will obscure slight variations between blues and greens.
