I don't celebrate it either, I've just picked it up somewhere.....I think that they're pronounced the same. Anyone here celebrate Hanukkah/Chanukah that could tell us?
Ok long story but we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. So let me get my little old schoolteacher glasses on here...

I’ve seen it spelled several different ways (with/without a c, one or two k’s, one or two h’s). But yes all pronounced the same: Ha-nuh-kuh. (Ok, this has variations, but in the US we have one common pronunciation.) The first sound is traditionally a guttural h, kind of halfway between h and k. But modern American pronunciation is just a nice regular h sound, like when Adam Sandler does the Hanukkah Song.

And now on to the most nerve-wracking moment of the holiday season— I have to fill the vintage, irreplaceable hand-blown glass menorah with oil for tomorrow night without spilling any. Every year I swear I’m gonna get candles.
