I gotta remember to take pictures of my flocks for the contest.

Mine isn't exciting enough to win- 3 red chickens and one white one being derpy together in bad lighting isn't exactly the contest winning type of flock. My friends' have a gorgeous flock- white cochins, BAs, a BO, an EE, a BR, an OE, a buckeye, and a partridge rock. Unfortunately, they're not on BYC.

Ohmygod, mine are SO derpy. They make weird faces and do dumb stuff all day long. They walk past the door of the run trying to find their way in. Yesterday we had a ladder up for gutter cleaning, and I caught my leghorn climbing it- she was up to the fourth rung when I took her down.

Sounds like typical chickens too me. Not all chickens are dumb. At least I haven't had any like that though.

Re: lights for plants.

Look for plant or grow lights in with fluorescent bulbs in the store. They may only be in 4 foot lengths, though. When you turn them on, they look magenta/purple. Kind of freaky when you see them through the window. Also, it tells everyone who sees them that you are growing plants. And they may jump to the conclusion it's pot.

Pot is legal in Michigan now. There was a large growing facility near Grand Rapids that glowed magenta/purple from a distance, and was visible from the sky.
