Most hatcheries have discounts if you buy more than 10 or so ducklings/chicks. I would say its cheaper to buy ducklings than to hatch them, since when hatching they may not all hatch.

How many on average die during shipment? Also I’m kinda in a small town. I don’t know how far the nearest hatchery is. I’ve never heard of any near me

Can they survive like that? I know they have their egg sac and that they take care of them but that’s pretty far away

Yeah, they ship them pretty quick. 2-3 days.

I do not know. I don't think there is really a average number, since there are so many variables that go into it.

All (?) hatcheries should refund you for chicks that died in shipment
