I just got into an argument with my mother. She let a few former egg eating hens out of the pen they were in because the roof of the peafowl pen collapsed (long story) and we needed to move those peafowl into the pen that the hens were in. The hens that were let out true to establish their place in the pecking order. No blood, just some feather plucking. The hen literally just pulled out like 4 feathers from a silkie hen that shouldn't be even be in the mixed flock of my mother is so overprotective of her! My mother got all angry and tried to put this small barred rock hen I with two NARRAGANSETT TURKEYS WITH A HISTORY OF TRYING TO KILL MY DUCK. I told her that they'd kill the hen and she said that I shouldn't even have the hen anyway!!!!! SERIOUSLY!? Just butcher the hen yourself then if you care so little about her!!! It would certainly be much less painful for the poor thing. At that point, I snatched the hen away and put her with a different pair of chickens who WOULDN'T KILL HER. Then I confront her about that when I get back and she says "well it got you to move her." REALLY!!!?? Then the argument goes back to the same thing that all our arguments (which there have been a lot less if recently) go to which is "you need to get rid of more of your chickens!"
"I'm trying to but it's not like people want to buy chickens in the middle of winter!"
"Which ones are you trying to get rid of then!?"
Then I listed some of the birds I want to sell and she says that I need to sell most of the mix breeds and just keep the "good" "useful" purebreds. I tell her no and that I don't even need purebreds. I know that she just wants "good" eggs and sometimes "good" colors so WHY DO WE need purebreds. Her response is that people buy purebreds but not mixes. Let me just say this, I'm NOT getting rid of my mixes. I have some purebred chickens and those are all I need. At this point, I'm considering getting rid of a lot of my chickens and just keep the best ones (best by MY standards.)
The argument had stopped for a while but we were still tense and when my mother tried to get me to do everything EXACTLY her way (why do I have to feed the doves first when I already started feeding the mice!? Why do I have to check the waterers while feeding them instead of checking them while I actually have water with me!?) I'll say it now I'm too stubborn, but I'm not going blindly do as she says when I have my own ways of doing things that aren't bothering her or the animals in any way other than "her ways better" Whatever! Then while I'm breaking ice from a chicken waterer (the last one actually) she starts watering the mice! You may think "oh that's nice of her to do that for you!" No, She's not being nice! I told her that I'd do it when I was done with the chicken waterers but no the most ce can't wait another few minutes so she just has to do it for me! Then she gets mad at me because she "had" to do it for me! I NEVER tell her to do stuff for me because I KNOW that she'll always get mad at me for Not doing it! THEN WHY DOES SHE DO IT FOR ME!? So I take a little while getting ice out if the chicken waterers that doesn't mean I'm just going to ignore the mice when I'm done!

Ok now I've got that out. That's actually a really long post. Sorry...? I don't know why I want to put family drama in this nice thread so I don't know if I should post this. I'll delete it if I need too.
