Why do the ameraucanas have feathered feet?
I saw some ameraucanas at the store today and was tempted especially when the clerk asked if I needed any chicks
I came home with 7 fluffy cheeked babies in MarchThose cheeks are irresistable!
They were probably Easter Eggers. Not Ameraucanas. Very rare to find Ameraucanas in a feed store. But very not rare to find Easter Eggers labeled as Ameraucanas in a feed store.I saw some ameraucanas at the store today and was tempted especially when the clerk asked if I needed any chicks
I came home with 7 fluffy cheeked babies in MarchI WAS planning and hoping to come home with chicks, though.
One didn't make it, but praise the Lord the rest seem to be going strong!

You say you rehome them... did you sell them? Straight run? Of do you just have a lot of crazy chicken friends?I hatched 54 chicks this month and I rehomed the rest. I'm down to the 11 in the above pictures. I think I'm going to keep these babies and grow them out to keep our favorites for our flock.
Or Americanas.
