Farm chatter

Here's the pictures I have at the moment with the Dwarf silkie chick, she's 7 weeks old. Like I said, the pictures don't do justice. Getting new ones today.

I don't know, really. They said they are just Bantams(Bantamism is a form of Dwarfism, by the way), & I showed them proof of one of my Dwarfs that had a Fatal form of Dwarfism called Thyrogenous Dwarfism, which the chick did die at 7 weeks, but they said the legs look normal length. Shanks were only half an inch.

No offense...but being told you’re wrong isn’t trolling. They thought that what you were saying was incorrect, and then it escalated.
People get to share their opinions. If you don’t like it, don’t engage. Just keep scrolling until you find the nice comments.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. They were pointing out things I already knew, & making sound like I was wrong, if that makes sense.

Oh. Then that’s sounds more like them just being mean.
But if it’s an informational discussion it’s better not to be insulted when someone says you’re wrong, right?

I consider it as trolling, since it's the internet, & it happens alot.

It's hard to accept being told you're wrong, even though, you've done lots of research on a subject before explaining the differences with pictures included.

Bantam Silkies in the US, are supposed to be about 2.1lbs for Roosters, & 2lbs for hens. My Bantam silkies are in the 2lb range. This also includes my Show stock I got from a Show Quality Silkie breeder.

Largefowl silkies by definition are supposed to be 4lbs for the Roosters, & 3lbs for the hens. (Most US "Bantam" Silkies are this weight, mine exceeds this weight)

My husband and I have always had a "mini-farm" for the past 44 years, with goats, chickens, turkeys, geese, peacocks, rabbits, cows, two donkeys, sheep, pigs, one pony and one horse. For those of you just starting out, go for it! It's a wonderful way to raise children!!
