Farm Innovators 4250 Temp and Humidity Experiment

That's too bad. :hugs I cringe when I hear about people using this incubator. I know some people get decent hatch rates, but with the huge temperature range in mine, I can't recommend it.
Mine has huge temp swings too! The 1st hatch was great...temp was steady, about 3 days until hatch on second batch, the temp spiked to 105°F, I don't know for how long but I loss the entire hatch. 58 eggs, all had pulled down and a couple had internally pipped. 😭

I just got this incubator. It doesn't seem very popular here! I don't ever intend to do 41 eggs in it (have 18 going in Thursday), but I have a feeling hatching math is much like chicken math.../sigh.

That said, I got it earlier than my eggs, because I wanted to run it. Extensively. So far I've found it very steady. I have a 4 channel pyrometer running 3 (currently...it's all I could find) probes to corners...and I switch them regularly to check for variations in both temps, and my readings.

So far, everything ranges from 99* even, to 101* or so. Hovering right at 99.6*-100* for the most amount of time. The corners read within about a half degree of each other at the widest split.

I do NOT have a probe in the center, but the factory readout had to be set to 103* to get my corners in range. When my other probe comes tomorrow I'll drill a small hole in the Plexi between the readout and heater/fan to insert that one. I'm really hoping the center isn't ACTUALLY 103*.

I also have a hygrometer/thermometer with Bluetooth coming as well. So more and better information should hopefully be available on that front also. It read 20% for 24hrs, until I added 4tbsp water. It's now at 32% and holding steady...all vents open. I'll be doing a dry hatch, so between 35 and 40% will make me happy.

If you all would like I'll keep posting numbers. Figure it can't hurt, and carries on with the spirit of the post.

Thanks so much for the update! How do you like your Nurture Right 360? FWIW, since this experiment mine has been sitting in the garage collecting dust. :lau
