Where's the river? lol

That's an interesting setup. Let us know if or when something hatches!

See, your zoo population just grew by 1!

Hey, I put a goose egg in the incubator today! And guess who gave it to me? My boss. She comes walking into the barn and says "I got something for you." And I'm thinking, now what. We've had such a rough morning today and I was sure it was just another job to add to my never ending list of jobs for the day. But she pulls out this big goose egg and says "Put this in your incubator!" with this smirk on her face.

So I put the egg in the incubator. lol I don't know if it's fertile. We have all kinds of geese and ducks in a large pen together. If the egg will ever hatch, it'll have to be a Sepastobol or a mix of Canadian Goose and "Who's Your Daddy?" dad. I'm thinking the last option because our Canadian Goose Candy has been spending an awful lot of time in their building, nesting. I bet it's her egg.
Okay, I'm done blabbing now.

I ran it out of gas on the way to the river, so that is where I have to stay....couldn't even do that right...lol.

"if or when something hatches"....lol. Yeah, I'll have heat, air-flow, humidity and the fertile eggs, but that might be all I ever have...lol. I'm using a mini fridge there...if it works, I'll get a regular size fridge and make it into one next...lots of egg room...hehe.

My zoo did grow by one!!!

I have 23 cattle, 6 equines, 3 pigs, 5 dogs, 11 turkeys, 44 meat chickens, 6 laying hens, 1 rooster, 20 future laying hens/roosters, 16 ducks, 4 goats, 3 rabbits, 4 fish, 6 cats with 3 having just had kittens...hmmm..seems like there should be more on that list than that....

I hope that goose egg hatches! Nice your boss is going along on your hatching addiction and helping the cause...

. I'd like to have some tame Canadians some day for sure! I just looked at them on Metzers site.

Well, at least you'd have eggs to eat with that government cheese.

...that's funny and very true!...lol.

I suppose you think you are going to go out there and take the chicken world by the tail, wrap it around, pull it down and put it in your pocket....Well I'm 3acres and I'm here to tell you, that you are going to find, as you go out there, trying to make money off your chickens....you're not going to make JACK SQUAT!!....you're going to find yourself eating a steady diet of government cheese and LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER....I know....because, I LIVE IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!! What do you want to do countrygirl74 when you grow up? "I want to raise chickens" Well, you're going to have plenty of time raising chickens, WHEN YOU'RE LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!! I should of kept that to myself....lol...sorry...lol. I miss Chris Farley! (Matt Foley, motivational speaking, SNL...lol.)

edited: that might be my chicken newbies welcome here in a few years....lol...just jokin

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your incubator. I hope you can hatch lots of chicks!

And I'll keep you posted on what happens to this goose egg.

Look at those big feet! lol What breed are these little guys?

Some lesser quality pictures again from a few years back.

The love of my life!

lol His name was Jussi, he passed away last year. Today, May 1st, he would have been 17 years old. He was a very special cat.

Mike....or maybe this guy was Joe. I could never tell the two of them apart. lol These two guys got so big that we didn't have the space for them here at the farm. They were lucky enough to find an amazing home on 20-something acres. They're just big pets. Apparently, the first night at their new home, they broke out of their pasture. The following morning, the new owners found Mike and Joe under one of their windows. And there was drool on all other windows all around the house.

Maybe Mike and Joe wanted to be house pets? lol

Sunflower was 34 years old when she passed away.

Lily the Mule, now at a very nice home where she gets to go on trail rides.

Who has the bigger smile??

This was Sir Beckett, probably 26 years old at the time, with my niece and nephew. Couldn't find a nicer horse than this guy!

Zeus taking a nap after a long day at the farm!
