Busy here as well for butchering. I work full time, and so does Susan, so it was tough to fit it in. We are getting married in three days as well, so lots and lots going on. We did 4 on Friday evening and 10 on Monday. I so wish we had a plucker. That took the most time. Thanks! I think I am going to add a few more Silver Laced and Columbian Wyandottes when I can! Yes, decisions, decisions! With a week of judging and 3 to 5 weeks of getting the calendar
made and them wanting to have to done by the end of Oct, I would think the deadline would be about here???
I think there is going to be an early fall here. Yeah,, those Red Rangers were in there waiting to be butchered. Big week this week here for stuff going into the freezer. As of right now, my Bourbon Red turkeys just run free 24/7. They are every where I am usually. To the left or right of about every pic I take, they are there....or underneath me.![]()
Real nice fair photos! Sounded hot! Congrats on doing well! I bet that is fun showing stuff you have!

Here they are a week before we started processing. They dressed out between 4 and 5 pounds each. I still have around 20 left to do + 25 chicks that are 2 weeks old. I am in over my head I think! I'm glad I got straight run. The girls do not need processed now. They are still extremely active.
Thanks for your input! I'm debating on changing my Speckled Sussex entry??? .....and appreciate you posting what you liked! hmmmm.I like #2,3, & 8![]()
Thank youHey, congratulations on getting married! That's awesome! I hear ya on the plucker! I am a one man processing crew that hand plucks. After watching videos of the pluckers, I can't imagine how nice that would be....someday! Some I just skin with the feathers on and bring in the pieces....that makes it a lot faster for me. This week I'm doing the Red Rangers, BBB turkeys and 3 extra laying breed roosters to bring back order in the laying flock. I just peck away at it the best I can. I let the BBB's get WAY WAY too big!....ooooops. I finally have my Barred Rock rooster I have been wanting.` He's real nice to be around and so far gentle with the ladies....so he's staying for sure.
Boy, those meaties look real nice and healthy! Good feathers and got to live a good life!
Great photo of your pup! I see Sweet Brown will have to stay with the duck....![]()
