Ohhhh that's gotta hurt! Hope the aftermath of that fall is not too bad. You've got to be more careful considering all the responsibilities that you have

(nagging).
That bathtub was the only luxury item in that house lol. Moved now to a regular tub. Love those cows and green grass..Getting 20cm of snow on Friday..freak storm :(. Love those chickies!
You guys need to quit making me laugh and my injuries would be just fine....lol....jokin!!!...

. When I get to the basement renovation...I'm putting 12" of soft foam on them suckers....haha. Thanks...cows are liking the grass and the chickies are loving their new homes!!! I need to get the cornish cross one made, the duck one made, and the turkey one made. Sorry to hear about the snow! I seen on a ranching board where people were talking about getting hit by snow up in Canada and in the states here....calves found dead, etc.

I read where dogs sweat out the bottoms of their feet....haha...

Are you stalking me?!? I KNOW I saw you sitting by my garden pond last night....

So, the hubs and I stopped by the feed store today. We left with 10 new peeps (Sultans and Silver Laced Polish), 2 turkeys of some sort, and 3 ducks (Blue Swedish and Khaki Campbell). Never had ducks or turkeys before so I guess I have a bit of reading to do to figure out how to raise them. One of the ducks has trouble keeping his legs from splaying out sideways, so we fixed him up with a tiny little gauze splint/brace thingy. He doesn't like it, but from what I read, he may only have to wear it for a day or two. We let them swim in the sink for a few minutes when we got them home... Too cute!!

I have no idea what kind of turkeys they are:

We also lost our minds at the nursery and brought home a bunch of new fruit trees to plant (As if we don't have enough work to do...lol). We got a couple of peach trees, nectarine, plum, apricot, fig, and bananas. Now I just need to choose some blueberries, raspberries, and grapes.

I was stalking you!...I take many forms!...The ol' bullfrog is my old standby....I didn't think you had seen me, but I was mistaken!....
big_smile.png
. Yeah, got the hubs in on the sickness, too...lol....maybe he already had it? Awesome on the new peeps! I find turkeys and ducks to just be great! You'll have a blast with them I bet! I love watching the funny stuff my ducks do and my poults are like puppies. Awesome stuff! It takes dedication to still post on BYC and have ducks...because they need their pen cleaned every other minute....lol. Sorry to hear about the one ducks legs! Great on the fruit trees too! I really want to add fruit trees here....haven't yet, but is on the list!

That's funny!...

. Your story is much better because it mentions scrambled eggs!!....
big_smile.png
....but is also sadder because chickens could of gotten hurt...
big_smile.png
. For any story of mine to be the least bit good, I'd have to throw some dragons in it some where.....hehe. It's just starting to get green and grow...and it was dark and cloudy today. I'll get better pics! Yep, there will be much
wee.gif
taking place!!!....
big_smile.png
. I really like a field of horses, especially and bunch of mares and foals ....and I love pastures full of bucking horses....but a pasture full of cows equals money being made and a pasture full of horses equals money being spent.....lol....just jokin around....
big_smile.png
.

.....and...I don't hurt so much here, or here, but right here.....lol. ....and here, and here, and here.....lol.
You're right about horses spending all your money. lol I guess they have us humans trained because most horse owners seem to be broke...because all their money goes to the horses.
lol.png

How do you make money on your cattle? I'm guessing they're for eating? lol

That's absolutely true...Especially in our perpetual drought! Might as well start feeding the horses dollar bills. At least they'd get some green food! LOL! I envy those green pastures you've got.

Here's my crew- about to form a lynch mob waiting on that hay bale to drop.

We manage to keep 'em fat n' sassy in spite of the lack of rain, but we struggle with the one old man, "Duck", a rescue that just won't put on weight no matter what we feed him.

OH MY GOD!
ep.gif
He looks just like my old horse I had to put down a year ago on Valentine's Day. I have a picture of him like this somewhere but can't find it...
Those same spots on the muzzle, the grey on the forehead...that little fluff of a forelock. He was such a pain in the *** but I miss him terribly.
hit.gif

This was Domino being smart, stealing my towel one day when I was out fooling around with the boys in their paddock. He was somewhere between 25 and 27 years old. Nobody really knew how old he was. I used to climb on his back, sometimes he was totally happy with it. Sometimes he'd go and walk right into the fence or their shelter to get me off his back.
lau.gif
Such a smarty pants.

Domino was a big hard *** and acted all tough, but he was actually a big softie once you got to know him. And he loooooved that little Jimm. They were quite a pair.

This horse taught me so much! Launched me several times too. Fell on my forehead one time, lost a contact lens, had grass stains in my blonde hair and a black eye the next morning.
lol.png
Somewhere along the way I really learned how to sit! lol
Going down memory lane here...

Seems your Domino and my Patch share more than just looks! Patch is a big ol boy with a big ol attitude. He's the nosiest, pushiest, and friendliest. He's also launched me into a full somersault over his head...dead stop from full gallop. Boy oh boy did THAT hurt!

One of the girls decided this was an acceptable place to lay an egg today...
The joys of free range hens. Every day is an egg hunt!
