My duck loves his chook. Now that they are older the chick wants to perch and jemima duck fusses around under him, then finally settles down to sleep nearby.
When the duck swims in the fishpond, the chick stands by and watches. The wild ducks come into the garden and so far jemima has shown no interest in swimming away with them.

Luke, try uploading them to flickr first then posting them from there on here. In the past my photos always looked better when I used flickr for uploading.
Ok, I will try that. Thank you very much for your help

.

My pair of ducks and their 'children.' They are all the same age, but since the ducklings were bigger, the chicks looked to them as mother figures, following them everywhere and snuggling underneath them at night.

My little Thai family. The rooster cares for the chicks as much as the hen. Now that the chicks are getting too big to all fit underneath her at night, the rooster has taken to joining the hen in the nest box so the chicks can also snuggle under him. He gives every bit of food he finds to them, and he will go after any of my dogs or turkeys if they get too close to his chicks.

And a fun shot of my lab, Luke. I caught him in mid jump (we have a lunge whip that he will chase and jump after like a maniac if you bring it out, he loves it).

Your ducks family is adorable, and I have said it before but I'll say it again...Those Thai are AMAZING!!!

That first picture is priceless! I love it.

And the rooster. They're great. I have Silkies and my Silkie roos take VERY good care of the chicks! I love watching them scratch around in the dirt and alert the chicks when they find something to eat. lol Great thing to watch.

That's one thing I especially like about the orientals. They seem to be very good parents, not just the hens, but the roosters also. Very nice looking batch of chicks, I know I would be happy to have such a nice looking bunch on my yard.

Some of my little critters again.

Snarf resting in the doorway. lol

Wednesday trying to charm the guinea pig.

Guinea pig wasn't interested. Food is more important. lol

More food.

She looks a little bummed.. lol

Some turkey !! He doesn't have the beak and talons but that approach would send me diving for cover - whew scary! Do the chickens ever think he is a hawk or are they too smart for that?

P.S. Turkeys REALLY can fly
