I have thought about having Molly be a service dog but idk if she'd like it I mean she adores people she's familiar with but true to her breed nature she's just a bit wary of strangers unless they have food. But she does get a massive case of the wiggles sometimes too. Mostly just with people she knows but yeah. Plus I love working her mind. I also always wanted to train her in search and rescue. I used to bury her toy in the snow and she'd always find it. She is hyper but not overly so temperament wise she's a good model of her breed. She's also the sweetest gentlest dog I know. She has helped raise baby rabbits(that were wild, DW Mommy was a regular and continued their care. She used to run in circles six feet from the nest keeping our other dog away from "her" babies. Lol) she has helped raise baby mice and kittens and helped dry off and short term rehab wild baby birds that were near drowned from our pool and when we had a hamster that had babies Molly got very upset if they were put back after being out without her being allowed to kiss them goodnight. Lol I used to have Molly on the bed and let the hamster(we only kept one and rehomed the babies) run all over her on the bed. Lol she truly is one of a kind my cats steal her food and she's so good she sits and looks pitifully at me until I notice. :) she's my baby girl. She knows over 42 commands and key words, knows signs for lots of things and is a very sweet girl. She's such a hoot. I have forgotten to tell her she could eat her breakfast gotten in and out of the shower and wondered why she was running from me to the kitchen only to realize I hadn't said okay and she didn't touch it. She did get a bit less behaved when we were living with my grandparents' who's dogs weren't trained at all. Funny how they learn bad habbits from the other dogs. But she's still amazing and its wonderful having a dog that I don't have to worry about with anything small or fragile.

That's cool and happy birthday! Also yes I would like to show but I wouldn't even know where or how to begin showing. I do have a pair of black oegb that are from show stock. One thing I always wanted to do was take my sheltie to an obedience class or do agility with her. She's smart as a whip but no e or ten years now wow idk when we got so old. But she tore out her cruciate ligament last December and idk if its fair to ask her to do that still. Kinda a bummer as Molly is my first personal dog and I've never met a better dog and people tell me that all the time... Is it just down hill from here? Lol

You can check out the Poultry Show Central website for shows near you.

This doesn't list everything, I'm sure, but it's a good way to get started. And there must be some sort of a poultry breeders association in your state you can contact for other show locations and dates. When I first started out, I found many poultry people that were very willing to help a newbie and give me good advice how to get started. Generally, I find poultry people to be much more genuine and helpful than horse show people for example. lol
Showing your bird is very easy. I don't know anything about the junior showmanship, but I know there's much more to it, as Birdrain mentioned. It's still great fun!

Molly is beautiful! I love Shelties, they're such bright, intelligent dogs. I'd love to have one some day.

Happy Early Birthday! They still have shows for the adults but it's a caged quality show which only includes: chickens, ducks, and geese.
Thank you!

Sanna, I never knew you were just a young whippersnapper. I thought with your intellect and abilities, you were a supreme adult leader. Geez I'm 68 and knowledgeable about junk food with a major in ice cream. That sums it up.
Thank you.

Yes, I'm still young, but I had to grow up quickly when I was a little thing, so maybe that has something to do with it. And people have called me an old soul many times. I never had many friends when I was really young, I found kids my age to be too immature. Go figure.

Thank you all for your wonderful advice and compliments on Molly. She truly is one of a kind I know a person is lucky to find a dog like her once in their lives. As for anyone looking for a great dog I would recommend a sheltie if you have the te and patience to work their brains BC just like any higher energy dog that is the key to you and them being happy. Molly's main flaw is that she got attacked by the neighbor's shiba inu at six months old and tends to be fearful of larger dogs but we're working on that as she now lives with DH2B's great dane, Bella, who is about as naughty as they come. ;) I'm working with her but I kinda think she may just be defective lol I know I'm spoiled BC Molly is such a people pleaser. Molly also adores our chickens we had a pullet who was repeatedly going after her and Molly never once retaliated. We sold the pullet and now Molly walks among the flocks like its nothing and sometimes if she can manage she sneak a kiss to a chicken lol she's so funny and wants to mother everything. The only aggression Molly ever shows is if she feels I'm threatened and even then I can easily control it but I also know she would defend me if I needed her to. She even separates my house cats if the get into it(I have two boys that sometimes play too rough with each other) She'll seperate them and herd one of them to a different room lol. I know people say shelties need brushing every day or they may but that hasn't been my experience yes they need regular grooming about every week or two weeks. If you're looking for an amazing dog and have the time and are willing to put in the effort I would recommend a sheltie. Her shedding is mostly seasonal and she tends to shed in tufts that I can just pick from her fur she only ever mats in the super silkie fur behind her ears although I imagine without care it could mat. Also she actually sheds less than my DH2B's great dane. :)

To be fair I worked with Molly a lot but she also is just so intelligent and such a people pleaser that she made training her easy. She can pick a stick you threw out of a pile even the corn stalk you threw out of a field. And as far as Bella the great dane she got hit at 6 months old and lost some training because of that. Plus Daddy was kinda a bit over his head with her(please don't repeat that) lol truthfully I hope in dogs of our future together I hope Bella is the one that's one of kind not Molly lol against all hope but still hoping :)

I know when I used to be active in the dog community on Tumblr (the dog blog section of it aka dogblr :p) people called dogs like her "heart dogs." it's a dog (or a cat, horse, etc. It would just be heart ____ instead of dog :p) with whom you have a special connection and bond, etc. That you don't have with other animals. It's just different and once in a lifetime. And I even knew someone with 6 huskies (well, 5 and one husky and they think collie or other herding breed mix) and one of theirs is a heart dog but only one of them. And as they, and I believe others with multiple dogs, have put it, you love all of your dogs but you have a special connection with this one.particular animal. It's deeper and different. And usually rare. However, some people are lucky and have multiple heart dogs in a lifetime and others may never have one. I thought it was a beautiful concept. And it sounds like Molly might be your heart dog. I haven't had a heart dog yet, though I do love my current dog. I think I might currently have my heart cat though. :)

Wow that is beautiful and yes I would definitely say Molly is my heart dog and I think I lost my first heart cat Cassie this last summer but I think I still have one maybe two in my Fluff and my Phantom but yes I do love all of my animals very much. And no Molly isn't perfect lol please don't missunderstand she is as close to perfect as I've met in a dog but not perfect she's a major chow hound(no food aggression) but she does sometimes get into bags that may be left in the living room or what not if she thinks there's food in them. We just pick them up and then its not a problem. I think this behavior is egged on by my mother's yorkie as Molly almost never does it unless Neena is present. Lol she also like many dogs vacuums the floor better than the vacuum cleaner we own lol. But as far as the many many bad things dogs can do I'm willing to deal with these things instead of all the worse things she could do.

I thought so too. :) I wish I had a heart dog but I'm sure it will be worth it when I do and they say you just know when you've found a heart animal.

But wow, those definitely aren't the worst and luckily easily managed. My dog begs a lot but only because I have been horrible with giving him tons of.food as I eat. He used to be amazing at staying away, at least with me and still bug everyone else lol.

And.he actually doesn't steal much food despite being half lab but he does sometimes try lol
