Im looking to grow plants that regenerate quickly and can be harvested at intervals (cut off a piece of lettuce each day , give a section of plant ) Anything that is cheap to grow and can reduce the cost of feed. For example I have been growing Duckweed and feeding it to them because it doubles in quantity every day or so.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Often we simply pull off the leaves of conveniently located weeds for treats. The chickens are quite fond of poke salad; and it grows fast.

You can go to a fish store or a seasonal store that sells flowers and also has fish, they should have it. If you have swamps/ponds nearby, you can scoop some out of it. If you dont have any of these, it is on ebay for $5 for 1/4 cup.

Asparagus. Ours also love clover and just about any kind of leaf lettuce. If you let some of the lettuce go to seed, it will just keep coming.
