fat trimmings?

Trimming up some meat and boiling the fat to make stock. I usually just feed the fat trimmings to the dogs when it is done, but wondering if the chickens might like some. I have 2 coming out of their molt and looking a little lean. Would boiled fat be bad for them?

Mine eat such things with no trouble. They spend loads of time eating bugs and mice if they can, so this won't be an issue at all. Feed away.....

Mine like meat scraps and i know they need more energy (fat ) while molting...
Just curious M1876, how do your hens digest mice? Another OP was worried about his hen swallowing one..

Do the little mouse bones come out into their poop or what? Do the bones stay in their crop...Very curious about that one...

Most all my scraps go to the hens. They love fat!

As far as the mice, I've seen mine swallow a nice sized mouse whole. Honestly, I have no idea what happens to the bones, I don't go looking through chicken poo

But no choking, no ill effects except she had to outrun her flockmates who just knew that was THEIR mouse!

Thank! Since the trimmings were practically nothing but fat I didn't know if it would be too much fat since there wasn't much in the way of actual meat. Got a trimmed brisket, awesome stock, and a chicken/dog treat out of all that work. Not a bad deal!
