So about two years ago, I had naively purchased one of those Chinese no-name incubators- a stacked one that holds 112 eggs. The first time I used it, the heating element failed after about two weeks. I tried to salvage as many eggs as possible, but I didn’t have any backup incubators and hours went by in between buying more at TSC. So, about 60% of the hatch went bad. This time, I fixed the heating element, however, now I feel like I have an issue with the turner!:hmm I know it was working last time, but I’m not so sure about now. Whenever I hit the reset button, I can see it turning the lever, but I’m unsure if the actual machine is turning? Will I be able to tell based on the eggs? I have 6 duck eggs on day 13 and the rest is filled with chicken eggs on day 6, however, I have multiple back up bators this time. With no school to attend to, any fluctuation in temp is noted so that I can move the eggs asap if anything goes wrong. I’m just worried about the turning and deformed babies. Will I be able to tell from the veins in the eggs? And whether they ar moving or not?

If your unsure, hand turn them 3x a day
If their are veins, then their still alive..
i would mark them and see meanwhile hand turn.
So I sat next to the incubator and waited for the timer to go down, and just noticed that when the Turner timer ends, the actual turning tray doesn’t work, but if I click the button, it does. I’m going to be doing that for the rest of the hatch. Thanks for the advice!
