The breeder is double mating? Lighter cockerels tend to come out of pullet pens, and yours does look light so far.

I have no idea All I'm going by at the moment is what I was told, I'm by no means a Faverolles expert!

Hello, I am new to this and ,I have been looking through the thread. I came across a conversation where someone could sex the chicks by feather color. I have 4 Salmon Faverolle Bantams that are about 16 days old. Can anyone tell me by these pictures what I have. They are split 2 are dark and 2 are light.

So for those that have been following me I'm almost ready for my new Faverolles and I think I'm going to go with Bantam Salmon faverolles instead of LF. Do you think I should get LF?

So for those that have been following me I'm almost ready for my new Faverolles and I think I'm going to go with Bantam Salmon faverolles instead of LF. Do you think I should get LF?

Do you have a preference?

Some people like bantams. They're small, don't eat as much, don't leave as much to clean up, take up less space and mature more quickly. Others, like me, prefer LF. I just like big birds.

Thank you very much! I have really been enjoying BYC. I have just started raising chicks. I chose the Bantam because they are small and my 6y is terrified of roosters. She was attacked once and she has not gotten over it. So I figured I would start small and young. The breeder that I got these from was telling me how great they are with children. Her's were super friendly and I fell in love with them. I don't know enough to give an opinion about the LF but this was my experience and why I chose the Bantam. I bought Calico Cochin Bantams and Lavender Americauna Bantams also. They all were super sweet and wanted attention. So far my chicks are the same way.

Every time i think of just going with the LF, those darn Bantams are just too cute....BUT,,,,,,in looking at your bottom banner, you have other chickens ( unless these are the Bantam Favs????)....just know that Bantam Favs. are easily intimidated by other breeds and may be best separated from them....
