Henry, your Fav girls looks so cuddly and sweet!

she looks so lovely when she runs up to check me out in the mornings and afternoons. she does this Charlie Chaplin type of waddle/run over to me.

where your lady is still young her color will even out. but she looks like she has a lot of black in her tail and other areas. i'm not an expert on chickens or the breed yet, but i think they seem to also call them the 'German' type.

if you can get away with keeping your roos, i would definitely keep the white one and get some more girls for him! i've seen that Sand Hill Preservation Society has the LF Mahogany Favs listed but won't be selling them again till the spring. unfortunately they only off a straight run.

Kinda what I was thinking .. keep him and get some girls from the same breeder.. it's obviously recessive in there somewhere . He may not be worth anything .. but I think he's unique.. Will be interesting to see how he matures..

Whoot SF's

Mine are quickly becoming my favorites. I think when I have a farm I will defently have LF SF's and maybe bantams to they are just so pretty and friendly and great winter layers to. I am just very very pleased with them right now.

Hattricksilkies will have Bantam eggs I am sure I got my birds from her. Um Pasofino has Large fowl Faverolles and I am sure there are a few others.

HenPen, if you are looking for local, check with Chickn. i got 2 of mine (bantams) from her in the spring and i know she had a pair about a month ago. not sure if those were bantams or LF or if she still has them.

i got my Chloe and Charlie from someone on ebay in a group of 4 eggs which all developed but only those 2 hatched. unfortunately the hens the lady had were taken by something and she won't have them again for some time.

i've been seeing some listed on there recently but i am still cautious about buying from anyone listing on there. there was someone listing bantam SF a few days ago in the buy sell trade area but i didn't see them tonight when i checked.
