Faverolles Thread

Here is one of my 7 week old SF pullets. She seems to be very friendly! Her puffy cheeks are coming in and she looks funny!

wow! that's in 7 weeks? mine are almost 4 and i can't wait for them to feather out like that.

Just through I'd stop in and say hello from a new Faverolles guy. This is our first attempt at raising chickens and after a bit of research they made the top of the list of "breed to get." We have 4, with a Wyandotte and a Sussex to round out the group.

Decided to do a little snuggle session .. Of course as soon as I pull out the camera she poops on the couch ;

We got these from a local small family farm. Doubt they're show quality, but as long as we all get along and maybe get some eggs out of the deal I'll be a happy camper.

All except 1 of my Salmons (5ish weeks) have a lot of black in their feathers. The 2 extremes of the 4 are pictured above (least black and most black left to right.) Not something I see in pictures of mature gals. Will they grow out of this, or do I just have darker-than-usual chickens? Don't plan on breeding or showing, just out of curiosity.

I do hope they're full Faverolles though, as I would hate not to have all their cute looks when they're older.

They do have 5 toes and feathered legs though, so I know at least they got that going on :)

Better not be a batch of boys

I paid extra to pick from the girls-only-box...
