Faverolles Thread

Post pictures when you start to get some of those nice mahogany males! Not many people including myself have seen correctly colored cockerel line males. I am setting some eggs soon also. I was glad to hear that your husband was so into the faverolles also wish my parents were that way ha ha.

Ok so I've talked to some of you already and some of you have seen my birds, either pictures or in person and I somewhat follow the posts in this thread. So I thought I would post some pictures of my birds. The pictures are of a breeding trio that I have had setup for 6-8 months. They are the product of some of the original birds that I bought several years ago from 2 different lines, I bought 2 quads. The rooster in the picture is from 1 of the lines, someone that also posts here, and the hens are from the other line, also a well known breeder. So here are the pictures, keep in mind they are confined on wire because they don't get to go to shows and their feathers suffer. They are bantam salmons.

they look slightly rough because the picture is from earlier in the year and the roosters had been togather, doing what roosters do....The other trio that I have are my "show" birds...They stay in an enclosed 16'X16' pen that I can move to keep them on new grass. I don't have any very good pictures of them but will have some show pictures soon.

Thanks for looking. Comments are welcomed and will be heeded.

I will post pics. My husband said if this is what you enjoy, he is 100% behind me. He enjoys sitting in the woods and hunting. I guess that is how we have survived 24 years of marriage.

Yes Henry, I would say so. I did that for Steph when she was at college. That is how I fell in love with them so much and look at me now.

You do have a nice dark male. Where did the lines originate. Who were the breeders.

I tell her that she will be breeding and showing chickens for the rest of her life and she just laughs now but I bet you she will keep some even when I can take them on again after college.

I'm picking up a trio of Blue and Black LF Faverolles this afternoon. Goodness, I'm so excited to get my hands on some of these gorgeous birds in these colors!!! I just had to share with people who would understand.
