Faverolles Thread

Just can't figure out what I did. Not real temp spikes at lckdownnor anything that I saw. Humidity stayed good when I checked it. Who knows. Call it a learning experience. My curve is really low!!! Lolololol. Now just have to wait for chickie'smoma to get her girls good and fertile again and well try again!!

On another note is the fused toes a trait that is passed on or is it just an individual bad trait

Went with the hovabator. Really wanted brinsea but just couldn't do as many eggs in the Octo 20 and was scared of spending more until I knew for sure that I could do this. I'm incubating with auto turner and forced air and hatching in still air (borrowed from mom). Staggered hatches so have to move them. Mom suggest maybe put fan back on the hatcher? Just don't know, like I said, humidiy was good windows fogged right at hatching yesterday but pulled a plug and it cleared. Hum stayed right at 60 in hatcher otherwise. Candles at lockdown all wiggling and moving good. The BOs I had with them hatched 7 out of 13 that went LD. Guess I need to take this prob to he hatch yreads sorry. But thanks!!

The buff is a bantam. There was a few black bantams in that batch that I brought him. The rest of the birds I saw in your pictures seem to be all large fowl.

will the Bantam Rooster mate with a standerd size pullet?

They say if you have a 30% hatch rate you are doing good. But mine run around 90%. I don't except anything less. If that happens I am very disappointed. Don't get frustrated, sometime when eggs are shipped, you can't control what happens in route. I myself hate shipping eggs for that reason. I feel guilty when they don't hatch.

All roosters love to crow. Especially if you have more than one. When one starts the other has to voice his opinion too.

Yes very true and the black monster I got from you certainly has a very loud opinion and he likes to share it with the world

He wants to make sure you know he is around. How are they doing?

Ya in my opinion shipped eggs and eggs collected from your own coops are two totally different things if you get less then an 80-90% hatch with your own eggs something is wrong. With shipped eggs I accept much worse results! I think 50% with shippped eggs is great!
