Pumpkins??? I'd love to see a picture of those. I love the color of Pumpkin Hulseys, but their temperment wouldn't fit in with the birds I have.

Once I actually "get somewhere" with the bantam mille fleur project I'll have something to add, but it's too early yet...
I have an recipe for millie fleur favs I got from Dick in my email I will look for it after I make the pie I am making now. It also involves Buff
Good luck setting your eggs. I will just make it short and sweet and say someone is planning on doing a millie fleur project.
Henry
hey, if you could find, would you please send it to me. I am 99.9 % shure the only colour of fav. we have in canada is the salmon, would it be hard to intoroduce the blue colour, with blue australorps?

Yes, it will work, that's what I was doing when I made them, but be careful, any salmon cockerels you get from the cross, you will have to get rid of them or keep them separated. They could screw up your salmon line. The pullets should be ok but I would put a special color band on them just in case. I didn't keep mine long enough so I don't know what could happen 2 or 3 years down the road.
Dick
I think I will try the mahogany line this fall. He got me going in the right direction on the buffs, now I'll try this. Why not I already have him.

I am psyched hopefully I get 4 more to choose from next week so that will mean I have at least a dozen BBS chicks. I am glad I am getting a lot of blues it looks like they have different shades of blue in the down also that should be exciting to see how they turn out. There will be at least one more from this hatch its hatching now but hopefully I get a few more. The "british" salmons are due next week also only 3 made it this far they got scrambled during shipping.
Henry
My last hatch for the season is Wednesday, Salmons of course. Then I can just sit back and watch them grow.
I'm all done. I just shut my incubator off when I got home from work.

Nope, put a blue astralorp male on a salmon hen. You don't have to hatch many all you want is a cockerel. If you get a blue cockerel great, if you don't that's fine, that cockerel will be carrying the blue gene. Breed that cockerel to about 5 salmon hens. If you keep the darker pullets blue or black, you would be at the beginning of creating an all blue and possible an all black line. If you keep the salmon hens you could make a blue salmon line.
