There are a lot of dark pullets in those pens almost mahogany. Very pretty! The blue male and your bantam pullet are on feathersite aren't they? the cuckoo male looks nice. Hard to believe that we lost the mottleds, buff lf, and cuckoo faverolles here! I wish I could speed up time and see how these chicks are going to turn out!

Sorry to say but that cuckoo male was John Kraft's in England. The bantam blue was Jim's. On another sad note, Sam Baker got rid of all his birds.

I love the pics, especially the bantam salmon pullet. Would it be safe to say that her shape is what one would want to aim for in breeding Faverolles (for hens anyway)? Is that the sort of topline to use as an ideal? Are there any points about her that you do not like or would want to see improvement in? For me, having a picture really helps (as in "do I have to draw you a picture?", yep
) as well as an experienced set of eyes giving a critique.

The cuckoo is beautiful I was wondering if it could have been a US bird. Does John still breed faverolles? To bad Sam got rid of all of his birds they were very nice looking.
Thanks for the input. I had decided he was a she a long time ago because of all the brown in his wings (and comparing to the wings pic on feathersite) but since all that dark came in and comb reddened up I had decided maybe it was a boy. I guess I was expecting the edges of his wings to be more black black and less brown. Now I know and thanks again. But now I feel like an idiot!
