Faverolles Thread

We have 4 salmon faverolles that we purchased this past Saturday. We were told they were probably over a year old. When will they lay? Is it too hot? I don't want to give up on them! I know its stressful moving into a new home

Sometimes the stress of moving to some place new keeps them from laying for a week or so, but If they're a yr old, they should resume laying once settled in

ETS: Forgot to answer the 2nd part...Yes, heat will also cause them to slack off a bit as well.
How far are you from the Joplin MO area?? We're almost neighbors aren't we??

I'm ready for cooler temps, the birds are too! I think your about 4-5 hrs from my area too then. It takes us 1/2 that (or under) to get to Branson. Nice having peeps who live so close...You'll meet lots of neat folks on here, and several from your area. Well, have a good one, poop duty awaits me

WHAOOOO!!! In 2 weeks I am hopefully turning back on the incubator. We will see if the heat has anything to do with it or not.
I think I am spoiling myself and my husband. Since I have been off work, I have everything done by the time he get home, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. LOL A person could get used not having to go to work. Now if I could just figure out how to get a paycheck at the same time LOL

Yeah what do you think? These came out of the last hatch from my hen and #1 cockerel.

They are the best bantam salmon males I have seen. If I were trying to show cockerels these would be it! Good job that was a great breeding!
