Good article Pete.
When I started with Faverolles bantams my hens all had white earlobes. A Rhode Island red breeder set me straight. All my hens were laying white eggs except one that laid a slightly tinted egg. He told me that white earlobes come from hens laying white eggs. I took that hen laying the slightly tinted egg and hatched as many chicks as I could. I was lucky enough to have a male that had red earlobes. I kept all her pullets, good and bad, and bred them back to their father with the red earlobes. From that cross the pullets had pink earlobes. The earlobes improved over the years. It took me quite a while to get where I wanted to be.
I had given my last salmon bantams to Ed Willougyby. He had them about a year and he wanted to get rid of them so I took them back. It looks like I have to focus on the earlobes again. Some of the pullets I hatched this year I don't like. They're to thin. If you have a bird with a thin head it will have a thin body, a wide head a wide body. This is one of the things I always look for.
Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, but working 12 hour days is killing me. I just have enough time to feed and water my birds. Hopefully I can retire soon.
Dick

Hey Dick! Hope you find a way to retire soon. Hope you can use the salmon girls I dropped off with you this summer for something.

DONE! I guess I should actually try n call huh. Your offer is for real? They have to go into TN for now as its too hot down here.

Yes if we are for real I can order the boxes tonight and they should be here soon. I can't hold onto the birds long up here at because I have no way to put them. So I would ship to TN and you would go pick them up?

I need to talk to her about transport to because I have no way to get out to Barton hopefully she comes into Burlington every once and a while.

Stick some In a box and send them to me too!! Heehee or better yet... Since our birds aren't "square" enough Peter you stick some of you standards Ina child shoe box and ship them and maybe by the time they get here they'll be square heehee. Ok I know tacky!

I'm fairly sure she's a BYC member too. I'll have to see if I can remember her username. She's way up there in NE VT, correct?

Yep seems like it Peter is probably going to call and talk to her. I also sent her an email. I think I remember someone in VT with faverolles names Yevette.
