Faverolles Thread

Just wanted to brag on my broody hens - all 6 of the eggs that I put under them hatched (last Saturday) and the chicks look great so far. The silkie has 2 and the Fav hen has 4 of them.

I don't think my bantam fav eggs are going to make it.

I think the incubator (power-outage) issues did them in....but I wanted to say that the eggs showed great fertility!! The best I've seen yet in shipped fav eggs...

Oh and I'm not quite giving up on them yet--they still have another day or two but usually I at least have cheeping or something in there by now (even within the shells).

Great looking birds everyone. I love that bantam pair and the chicks are looking great. Glad everyones faverolles are doing so well Mamen I might trim that girls beard it looks like she can't see at all and she might go blind from feathers rubing her eyes.

If the temp did not go too far down when you had your power outage. Give the eggs a couple extra days to hatch. I had this happen to me once and on the 23 day they hatched.
