here's hoping i can send you some of my project LF cuckoo favs for your 4H project this summer Henry! Cole my cuckoo roo has 2 sweet marans ladies to keep him busy till i have some LF fav girls for him to cross over this summer!

Keesmom, the eggs i got from you didn't hatch. i checked them and unfortunately they had gone bad or the air cells separated and were floating around.

i had some McCallums eggs set aside from those i got a week after yours and she has a new batch of good eggs under her, here's hoping for a few pullets

. i think while she was in the coop too many others kept trying to get in to lay their eggs and kept crushing an egg over the others and knocking them around. i found that happening for 3 days straight but the crushed eggs were my own mixed breeds. my moma cochin is now in the house brooding over the 9 remaining eggs (out of 15 from McCallum) and so far after a week she has not crushed one egg!

Those cochins are loverly! 4 years to mature, wow. We have two left from a flock of seven we adopted years ago.... still going strong & they must be over 12 years old.

Hey all hatching salmon babies like crazy, but finally just had a couple of blacks hatch this weekend!! Too cute. Not used to have anything but yellow chickies in the brooder!

i just take a drink, camera and sit and shoot. by the time you get done your feeling wonderful and the pics are great.
