Gloria, I thought the same thing about one that I had until I did a little more research. Here is a picture of her at about 6 months (I've got to get new pics as my Faverolles are 8 months old now):

I really like the Mahogany color. Post more pics of your girls please.

Can someone tell me what the approved colors are for showing purposes?

Also, how long does it take for the Faverolles Fanciers of America to get back to you? I sent in my membership paperwork/dues 2 weeks ago but have heard nothing from them yet.

Standardized colors for showing are Large and Bantam Salmon and White. The American Bantam Association also recognizes Black, Blue, and Buff bantams.

I don't understand why blue salmon isn't recognized its a pretty well developed color.

I emailed the APA but I don't really understand how to go about getting a new color recognized. They haven't replied even after about a month. Maybe I should try emailing someone else.

just a quick run down and im no expert... you have to have 2 of each class(hens pullets roosters and cockerels) showed at 2 different APA shows for 2 years in a row... and you have to keep tract they don't... then you have to have a qualifying meet with at least 50 birds showed by at least 5 different ppl at one place... and you have to have 5 ppl that wil sign a statement saying they have been breeding this breed for 5 + years...

this is just of the top of my head there may be a little more lol...

Hmm I guess its just kind of bothersom to organize and blue salmon isn't all that popular. I bet someone could muster 50+ blue salmons but I'm not sure.

Ah, but you intend to sell me all of the eggs you get, right? My hatch last month was a bust, with one bird half-hatched with NO FEATHERS OR FLUFF on the lower half of the body! I was relieved to find it had passed (still not fully hatched) when I looked an hour later, as I can't imagine not culling a bird like that.

It was a bad hatch, but the eggs had arrived with giant air cells, so I was hesitant from the get-go.

I NEED FAV EGGS!!!

I will try all of the eggs for the next two weeks are already reserved and then I am going to hatch but once I've set my hatch I can defently do a batch of eggs.

Henry

Oh, do!!
I would be pleased as punch!
I might do a little bok!bok! dance around the room!
