I had bantam salmons for 8 years. Last year my husband was ill and I had to sell my flock. It worked out well because one friend who bought some of my birds, also bought my incubator and he is hatching some out from my birds and giving them back to me to get started again with my own stuff. We picked his birds together so I know what he has. Am anxious to get them back again. I had great success with showing them, a couple of starred wins with reserve feather leg. Their meat is tremendous, super temperments. My friend, Pete, has some that set. I got a trio of whites 2009 hatching season, but I sold them, tho' I had prayed for 8 years to get them. But my husband was too sick to dump grain, clean pens etc. and I am disabled so...I had not choice. If you haven't had a fav yet, you will love them. You can put other birds or chicks in with them and rarely is there a fav that will attack. In fact rarely will they attack you. They have adorable faces and amazing personalities. I sold some of my fav books when I was discouraged but there is some great stuff out there. The club is a bummer and no longer active. Perhaps its time we form a new one! I'd be glad to help people with questions etc. Ihad two great people get me started, Rose Isgrigg and Dick Boulanger who along with Peter Merlin were the "keepers" and defenders of the breed in the US. Dick went to England several times and brought birds back and saw what the birds were like. Rose went on a tour a couple of years ago and saw tons of them . She brought eggs back but didn't hatch much if anything out. Lets boost salmon faverolles, they deserve it. They lay well, are beautiful, and taste good.! ginny
