Faverolles Thread

No mine only lay a light tan egg, are you sure she is not an EE, that is colored like a fav. She sure is pretty but I would think she is not a full bred Fav. Her comb from this angle also looks like an EE comb not like Alma's straight comb. Hmmm. Somebody else will come and tell you for sure cause I am far from being an expert.

I think you are right. I've been looking at her more today and she has clean legs, a small comb and is also quite narrow in the rump compared to my other hen. She has a lot of "character" too though

The one that laid the green one is a cross but the other one looks to be pure to me. If you want more faverolles just keep the tan or light brown eggs to hatch and eat the green eggs unless you want some more pretty EE's. I really like your birds they are very pretty.

Its all a learning process that is why breeding chickens is so much fun you learn something new everyday! Good Luck with them I love them you have some good birds! I just had a though your cockerel could also be a mix. Does he have feathered feet?

Of course she does have alot of character! EEs are great birds, I have 14 of them and I love them too death all of them are different in their personalities. and you have the best of both worlds in her, a cross with a Sal. Fav. and and colored egg layer, Who could ask for more! LOL Sandy
