I am headed to Ohio to meet Leisha and pick up three splash pullets and a pair of blacks for myself and then a pair of blues for keesmom. Then on the 25th and 26th I am headed up to Mass to meet Dick and drop of Keesmom's blue pair and a lavender cockerel for Dick. I am also picking up a nice salmon male. Its getting hot here but I can probably do a few batched of really nice salmons if someone wants them the price will be reduced because of the heat even though these are going to be very nice birds from Bourlanger/ Comer Bourlanger/ Oxley and Bourlanger/ Bourlanger- Leighton crosses.
If you breed blue salmon either blue salmon hen or cock to a salmon birds you should get 50% blue salmon and 50% salmon offspring. Same goes for blue to black breeding with other poultry as well. When I am talking about blue, black, and splash favs I am talking about pure blue and black faverolles not salmons are blue salmons.
Gotcha. Had a semester of livestock genetics back in college but didn't know if the colors were sexlinked or something. I was just debating on whether it worked like that and if it did, whether I would eventually want to get maybe 2 blue Sammy hens to go with sammy roo and hens.... When they hatch.
I know. A little premature but gotta have a plan. Right??
