Hey Henry, how did your hatch ever end up with those bantam salmons from Nickolas? I candled mine last night, and of the 8 he sent me, 6 are developing well, and that's WITH a crushed box!

I think someone was going to try jubilees, I just forget who.

I'd love to see some of your chick pics. Here are some of the cockerels I hatched out from Dick's eggs. I ended up with 12 cockerels and 9 pullets.

And some non-poultry neighbors.

EEK Spinning Fav chick! I found several old threads on this but no conclusive answer. Since it's a Faverolle, I'm posting it here....

The five 9 day old chicks moved into larger brooder today. Several hours later I hear a chick complaining loudly, like it was alone.

I went out to check, and found it running in circles and peeping loudly. It stops to eat & drink, but acts like it has neurological damage.

I tried trimming it's cheek feathers in case it was due to obscured vision or fluff poking it's eye. No change. The balance seems to be off a bit too.

I know if a tropical fish does this, it's dying.

Has anyone here seen this?

Thanks!

I'm sorry Laurie, I have no clue...hopefully someone who's been around longer than me (in the poultry world anyway) will chime in for you soon!!

Could it have bonked it's head? I had one a month ago with wry neck. His head was tipped sideways and he'd spin in circles. He also recovered on his own in a week.
