He had attacked me a few days ago and I was trying to train him but when he went after her that was the last straw. I am getting a male from David also so that should be ok also I will breed him to my black female and then breed the male that I am hopeful is in my batch of chicks to the splash pullets.

Good luck! I've never had a mean Fav?? Sometimes a little shy but never aggressive...

Ya not sure what was going on with this guy might have been something I did who knows.

He never seemed to like you for some reason. David will be sending you the best of the black boys though.

It breaks my heart you had to destroy him. If he was anything like his Dad, you would of been impressed with the outcome.

It was a really hard decision to make and I am sorry I had to do it. The flock is my responsability and I am leaving them with my mom for most of the year and after he showed agression toward her she said she wouldn't feel comfortable taking care of the birds. So it was either put him down or dispearse the whole flock.

Are any of those black chicks you have now out of him. I wouldn't rush out and get another roo right now if you don't plan on breeding anymore this year. See what you get out of the chicks.

If I remember right, David only got one black hen off of me. To get true black, I would only get one that is out of true black stock.

Yep the blacks and some of the blues are out of him. It looks like I have at least two black cockerels I am really excited to see how they turn out.
