Thanks, I already contacted him, but he has nothing until the spring. Rose Isgrigg also lost a number of birds to a predator and is in the same boat. I was really hoping to pick up something at Ohio, but everyone only has bantys.

You contacted me for birds in the spring, but I think I can let a male go if that's what your looking for.

With my experience, a lot of people raise fancy chickens for show. It's not often you see a multy colored bird on champion row never mind champion of the show. A lot of shows I've been to, I saw black or white chickens on champion row or mostly solid colored birds on champion row. Judges most of the time feel better with a solid colored bird, black is black and white is white, now they're only looking for type. Also, not many Judges know Faverolles. Next time you go to a show look at the birds on champion row. How many multy colored birds are up there and what color was the show champion. It would be interesting to see what you see for yourself.

That's very generous of you, Dick, but I can't have LF roos right now - my neighbors with have me evicted. They do tolerate my bantam fav roo, though, he hardly ever crows, and when he does he's not very loud.

I was just having this discussion at the cobleskill show about cochins. All the birds on champion row were white or black, with one RIR roo. She said she got out of partridge because no matter how great they were, they never made it up on the row. Funny how you never notice stuff like that until someone points it out.

I am in VT but I don't have Faverolles the closest people are probably in MA. Cindy has Salmon LF, and Blue, black, splash Bantams. Dick has some other colors as well but as he said won't have much till spring. There is also someone in Maine with buff bantams and salmon bantams.

Henry, that girl I have from Melissa that you like so much....well, I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for that first egg (her hatch mate at my friend's house has been laying for about 3 weeks already)...well, we got back from her first show on Sunday, and on Monday....plop...her first egg! LOL It was HUGE for a pullet egg, especially for a Fav egg! A tiny bit of blood on one end, and laid in a weird spot, but it was nearly as big as my Welsummers egg! BEAUTIFUL color too!

Clover, was that your faverolle on champion row?

So hard to get a silkie on champ row, esp when Joe Mazur is there with his darn cochins! Nice guy, but hard to beat.,

Ha ha other way around here impossible to get a Faverolles on champion row but there are silkies up the wazoo. Probably because Maryland and PA have such good silkie breeders.

I forget did you say how she did at the show?

Henry

She took first in a pullet class of 5!

I know, I want to hatch babies from her really bad, but hafta wait until the white roo is gone, as he is older than the salmons and I've seen him breed her...he's sold, just waiting for the lady to pick him up...

Ultasol - no, unfortunately the Favs on champ row weren't mine, but they do belong to another member of the Fav club. I really think that once she fills out a little more my Fav pullet with give those other birds a good run for their money though!
