That is great! Wish I could have made it over there. My husband brought me home a pile of orders (which I am still not finished with) that have to be ready Monday so I worked all day.
I do have new babies now. The Fav eggs started hatching Thursday night. The first one was in a hurry-pipped at 9:00 pm and hatched by 11:00. The rest of the Favs hatched throughout the day on Friday. I had 5 Favs in this batch and 10 B/S Orpingtons. All 5 of the Favs hatched and are doing great. So far, 4 of the Orps have hatched and look good (the latest one hatched yesterday at 1:00 pm), one pipped and died in the shell (a lot of blood, must have hit a vein), and 5 more are still in the incubator. None of them have pipped so I don't really expect anything else to hatch but I'll give them til in the morning. Not too bad though - 100% hatch of my own eggs and 50% on shipped. I am super happy about it!
(Especially since this bunch was incubated in my new homemade incubator which worked great.) I still have 5 more Fav eggs due to hatch next Saturday. I put them under my Fav broody Friday night and she is guarding them ferociously. Hopefully she will hatch them successfully. I'll try to post a pic later today IF I get all this work finished and can sneak it in before I have to go over and work on the leather shop reconstruction project.

Glad to hear about the successful hatch. I am thinking about incubating for someone this spring since I have so many incubators lying around at home and I think it would be fun to hatch in the dorms
I would probably hatch some Faverolles or maybe some Marans and Ameraucanas for someones flock.

Wow! Congratulations! My little roo took BB, and a Fav hen took R. Continental on Champion Row. Never did find out who owned her, but it should be in the poultry press. Judge was very honest with me when I asked for an assessment and said he rarely comes across favs, so I should seek advice from those more familiar with the breed. I thought that was very nice of him to admit that.
