Faverolles Thread

If the blue pullet is laying, yes I would hatch the eggs. Being bred to a blue and a splash I know you know you would get blues, blacks and splashes. If the lav split girl is also laying I would hatch her eggs to. Do you have a lav split male? If not I could send one down to you.
I think you might have to build more coops. HA If you recall the little coops I have in my yard, I have about 20 more I can make. All precut, just have to put them together. Depending on how many I can build this summer will depend on how many birds I take to the Crossroad show. This way when I get back from the show I can put them in their individual coops for a few weeks to make sure I don't bring anything home. The plan for the show is starting to come together, my son will be going to the show with me, so I have a driver and he loves to drive, and my step son is going to take care of my birds while I'm gone. Now I just have to same my money.HA
Great names for your birds Pete.

I believe the claire Faverolles is a silver wheaton, they don't carry any mahogany. Our other Faverolles are mahogany silver wheatons. I do agree with Peter, when showing your hens/pullets it all comes down to the judge. I remember one shoe my buddy Eddie and I went to we had entered 22 salmon pullets between the two of us. One of the pullets I entered was a blue salmon pullet. She had more of a light salmon pink color. The judge liked her color so much that she got best of breed and went on to win reserve featherleg.
This is when I was developing the blue salmons, nobody knew about them. HA I think most judges are aware of the differences now. I don't think I could pull that off again.
