Faverolles Thread

Got my first Faverolles. I was going to get a welsummer and ended up with 8 other chicks, including 2 faverolles.We werent going to keep them, but they are so sweet, I think we will!

I am SO glad to hear that Peter!! Just about every time I go out to my lf coop I think of you and all that you've lost...I can't even fathom how horrifying that must have been. I'm so happy that things are turning around.

I have 5 faverolles (part of my first flock). Are they always a little, um, quirky? The other breeds I have are pretty mellow and predictable, the faverolles are always darting around and chatting loudly. Perhaps mine are just a bit addled? They are also a riot to watch, very friendly, and are so pretty. I was just wondering if it is a common breed trait for them or if it is just mine.

Speaking of silly Favs, I saw something funny this AM....

Ok, so normally I would NEVER put bantam Favs and bantam Ameraucanas in the same pen...EVER. BUT I do have a trio of juvie Favs in with my juvie Ams in a grow out pen, because they've all been together since day 1, and they are getting close to the age to be separated out.

Anyway I was sitting near the window this morning, and I heard a ruckus. I looked out in a panic thinking the worst, and much to my surprise and delight, one of my bantam salmon Fav girls was chasing TWO of the bantam Ameraucana BOYS!! LOL Me thinks they were trying to get fresh, and she gave em wut for!!
