I had 3 more hatch since Earlybird (yes thats his name now). He's enjoying the heck out of stepping on his poor disoriented siblings. And one more is zipping as I type.

To be honest, I didn't expect such a success at hatching! If they stop now, I'm at 50%, which is amazing because I'm a first-timer, and there was a coldsnap when the eggs were shipped.

Hi everyone!
I'm new to this thread and was wondering if i could ask a few questions.
I would love to hatch some bantam faverolles out, but my main breed of chicken is bantam polish.
I would like to know whether they would get along ok together?
Normally its hard for polish to be put in flocks with other chickens because they get bullied or picked on for their lack on vision.
Most of what i have read says faverolles are very friendly, docile, and are normally on the bottom end of the pecking order aswell.
I would like to avoid a breed that is aggressive towards people, other roosters, or other chickens.
From what Ive read, faverolles seem like they would be fine for what I'm looking for.
But, if you have any first had experience to share with me, that would be great

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I have a mixed flock, and unfortunately the favs, both LF and bantam, get picked on by everybody. Not enough to do any damage, but it's a pretty regular thing. They are very friendly and docile, even my rooster. I always recommend the bantams for the kids, because they are so sweet.

Well that sounds promising then.
Because the polish rarely pick on other chickens, so i'm hoping they would co-exist well.

OK, thank you everyone!
I feel pretty confident about it now and have just bid on some bantam faverolle eggs

So far i haven't read or come upon anything bad about them so they seem like the right choice!

You will love them!!! I have mine in with silkies and my Fav boys seem to protect the silkie girls from the rougher boys. The girls will run to them for help! LOL They do so well with the chicks too.

Not too sure you would call them Mahogany. Mine has a black chest

Mine too,and are about 9 months now and though have gone thru several color changes are maturing out like the pictures on Feathersite...I Like the more golden coloration too.....sorry do not remember how old the pictured Mahoganys were....

Am thinking it would be nice if some of the other colors that some of the members have could be posted on Feathersite....Think Peter is the only one with a black bantam, but there are the glorious blues and delightful buffs that are not there ( and others). barry gives name credit, also lists breeders...his list is slightly out of date and thou i didn't check right now, do not think the Favarolle club is listed.
