yep... i won some eggs i didn't expect to, so i am trying to figure out how to do it, she is full up, the bator has a week to hatch, and here i sit with these wonderful eggs ready to go.... how long can i hang onto hatching eggs before they are no good??

Not very long if they have been shipped. Most people wait a day for the eggs to settle after shipping, but the general con senses is the sooner the go into the incubator after resting 24 hours the better... I would think 3 days would be your max. Candle everything and toss out any quitters and maybe you will have room.

I just got 2 roos and a hen of the bantum variaty and was wondering wen they will lay and you know wen the roos will do their "THANG" Please reply

Same as other chickens I think Around 5-6 months the girls will start laying. That poor girl, you need some more pullets lol

Even through they are not pure bred, what do you think of them? they were hatched March 11th from my EE Roo and Salmon Faverolle Hens!

You can really see the Faverolles in them, can't you? I think they're adorable )))))))

I am not sure where the practice of 'letting eggs settle' began but every day you store eggs past the second day post lay, hatchability decreases, even under the best conditions. Scientifically I have no idea what 'settling' is doing for the suspended but developing embryo, but I sure know what waiting yet another day or two prior to setting eggs does, it decreases hatchability.
