Faverolles Thread

I have just been reminded that the Centennial for Faverolles to be admitted to the APA Standard is 2014. I ask the powers that be if would it be possible to join the two nationals for that one year. I will be happy to sponsor etched Mikasa crystal vases for Champ and reserve faverolles. I was asked in '98 by then APA Pres Vi Halbach to do them for the APA Centennial at Columbus (while I did sponsor a bit) there were 8 of them on a purple velvet display way up in the air. It was a beautiful display. (Ask the oldies that were there.) Never hurts to plan. I would also be willing to sponsor the following certificate that I created in the '90's presented in nice frames for whatever all might like to see them go to. It is below. I can certainly make changes. (the feathers created took me then 2 weeks to get done) I can print them on any color card stock. I inserted the new logo. I also have an older logo in blk&wht if needed.
I'll bet we could start taking monetary donations for BIG cash awards too.

I think that is an awesome idea Peter! I would love to help fund something like that! Such a good plan. That display sounds amazing and so do the awards. It would be nice to have Faverolles be at the center of a big show. Those certificates are really cool to.

Yep, that's an awesome idea Peter!! AND just in time for me to add it to the club meeting agenda at the Western National this weekend!!
 
Hi guys, checked the calendar and they were set on the evening of April 2nd so will go into lock down on Friday. 3 Summer eggs and the rest are Marcel. I am hoping to get some nice babies out of these to cross with my 7/8ths birds. I feel they will set me a few years ahead. I also have a single pullet chick so far from my sibling cross of the birds I got from Dick, and 3 nice pullets from my Merlin roo I lost that had such great type. With the Patterson line birds I have hatching out from various folks and my own work, I will be planning on closing my flock to outside blood next year if all goes well. Hope to "keep it in the family" for at least 5 years. Will try to have some pictures up by the weekend.
 
Yeah! The closest show to being dead center is the Heart of America Bantam Club show in KS. Their show is in Nov annually. I don't know a lot about it so I will call an old dd friend and find out more so you will have the info for this weekend. I will be there, but will be flying in so it will just be me - no birds. I would like to create very special invitations I would like to send to Kassandra to mail out to some of the people that may not be active any more but were still major contributors to the breed in their day. I'm so thrilled this has been received the way it has. BOY have I found some gorgeous vases....Waterford....Baccarat etc...SO. I'll let you know further info so you have it for the meeting.
