Favorelle Cockerell

I have a Favorelle cockerell about about 4 months old. I just got him about 1-2 weeks ago. He won't mingle with my hens and doesn't roost. He sleeps standing up. Any thoughts as to what is going on with him.

Can you post some pictures of him? A bird that sleeps standing is usually not feeling well.

He is a newcomer amongst the established flock? It will take a while to integrate, keep on eye out for bullying. Are the hens adults? They will have some opinions about this young intruder, for sure. At the best, they will train him to respect them.

Are all your roosts the same height? You might make a lower one. He is waiting till he is invited. My last rooster spent about two weeks on the lowest roost, and then moved up. I don't think there is a problem, I would take it as a good sign that he is a good rooster.

Did you check him for mites and lice and deworm him before adding him to your flock?
