Favorite All Flock feed?

Just priced that at my local supplier, $15.50/50 lbs! That will likely be what I use when my flocks reach age.

They also have a Show Flock Developer. I have used that, as well.

That’s what I am currently feeding my younger chicks - TM Show Flock Starter.
Then I switch to TM SF Developer when they are a little older.
When they begin to lay, I switch to the TM SF Layer.

We use the Purina Flock Raiser for our mixed aged flock, which is fresh where we shop almost always, used up within two months of the mill date on each bag.
There's no one 'best choice', it depends on what's fresh where you shop, and preferably a 20% protein all flock type diet, or a similar unmedicated chick feed can also work fine.
Local mills may or may not have something good (nothing here!) and brand availability varies depending on your location.

Before I made this thread I had picked up a bag of Kalmbach 18% Chick Feed, now I am debating just keeping them on that until they are all laying. It is higher protein than the Kalmbach Flock Maintainer. I haven't been able to find Flock Maker locally yet.

Also, as an aside, I started putting food in the big rubber horse food tubs. Occasionally I have to scoop out a poo, but I have been having a lot less waste lately.

I am not sure this is the right forum to post to but I have a question - my flock just transitioned to all flock crumbles from chick starter as we had a little one in the mix for a bit. Now NO ONE is eating the all flock crumbles, they look at it like it has poison in it! I splurged and got the extra expensive organic one too! Any thoughts?

We have 11 hens, 1 rooster, 1 rooster 'pullet', (his son), and an older bantam girl who just broods all day anyway....

Try mixing the starter with the new stuff. This way they can get used to the new stuff more gradually. You can adjust the ratio as you go, starting with higher ratio of what they're used to and then transitioning to more of the new stuff.

Yes, but they won't be able to avoid getting some of the new stuff while foraging through the mix. Then, hopefully, they'll gradually get used to it as they get less of the old.
