Even though I love my purbreed chickens, I am interested in the unconventional, too. Look at those Showgirls...now that was an interesting backyard mix! I'd like a thread designated to the "nameless" breeds.

Post your pictures and stories of your own backyard mixes.

I couldn't help but hatch two of my favorite backyard birds...Jersey Giant roo X Buff Orpington hen. This is the resulting chick...

I can't wait to see this little devil feather out...our naughty Welsummer roo X White Silkie. This is the resulting chick...

Our special purebreeds, and our special mixes.

This is a Policauna roo, Blue Wheaten Ameraucana X Bearded Buff Laced Polish... I'm going to put him over his mother, his sister and a BWA hen... I'm working on making some polish that lay blue eggs.

I've had some pretty interesting mixes before.Who knew so much money could be made by putting NN in with a silkie and calling them Showgirl Silkie's.Yep I paid big money for egg's when they first came out.I have one now and she is an awesome hen.I didn't fork over big money on the egg's this time.I have done Sizzle's/Frizzled Polish.I got 2 frizzled black and white sebrites once too. Those sold like Hotcakes. They are all awesome.I wont over breed bantams with large roo's.There is no rule I have sold so many of my potluck mixes in the past and they are awesome pet's.I don't breed to show standards or the like and would never list an egg that was Show quality etc.Going to triple check the birds now getting dark.
