Favorite breed? from those who have owned multiple breeds/chickens

I find it amazing how curious and outgoing polish are after having read so many places that they were 'flighty' before I ever got any! And you just can't bet that cool look too haha.

We have around 10 differnt breeds now. Some are to young to judge thier behavior. I have a few breeds that I really like as adults. I love my Buff Orpingtons, and they are very loving in return. My little mutt bantys are friendly, and pretty. My Dominques are friendly and good eggers. Gee, hard to pick just one, but if I was going for friendly, I guess , the Buffs.

My favorites after trying many breeds are as follows:

Nankins (bantams)
d'Uccles (also bantams)
silkies for my youngest child

The roosters are soooo sweet. (Not the silkie roosters.) The hens are tame.

For free rangers, my favorites were my Golden Campines- so talkative and brave, friendly but didn't want to be held. They fly like ducks and don't want to be confined, though. I sold them.

Thank you! This is awesome information and exactly what I was looking for. Several of the chickens mentioned-Im unfamilair with and will defiantely investigate further.
FYI: I live in the midwest so need to find cold hardy breeds as well

I currently have:
4 barred rock-six/seven wks old (and think 3 of them might be roos);
2 banty cochins seven wks old;
1 polish mix-seven weeks;
1 black(Sex linked? was suppossedly a BR) six wks old;
3 dorking/blk orpington mix pullets eight weeks old
1 blk orpington one yr old;
1 dorking hen 6 months.

So far:
cochin bantys fly up to greet me and snuggle
one BR (roo?) snuggles and coo's
and top of my list is probably my polish!!!! Absolutely love him/her

Still learning personality of the dorking/orp, orping, dorking hens-but they all seem really friendly as well (new to us a few wks ago)

I really want a chicken "sanctuary" LOl where I can go out and just chill with my babies, hold whomever is in the mood that particular moment and added bonus-eggs (to make the DH happy) I'm nervously awaiting to see what their personailities are like on the other side of all there teen hormonal stages. I am going to be really sad if I can't get my roo(s) to get along-they've been raised together....hoping that is enough.

I would like to add to my flock but am thinking I need to restrain myself tell I discover what the different personalities are like. And to see how my bantys fair with the larger birds.
