Love my ducks!! I have had Pekin, Mallards, Campbells and Muscovys, not too much of a variety available here in Hawaii due to strict quarentine rules but by far my favorite of the 4 breeds that I have raised is the muscovys! Love those crazy wild carnacles on the males and their bright blue eyes! I enjoy watching them fly around, they have alot of character, they are easy to train, very friendly, and they can stand their own ground to the dogs! The ducks always come up and socialize with me when I am sitting on the bench in the yard and allow me join them in their conversations with the head bops and neck stretches. We raise American Pitbulls that are pretty much animal aggressive, but very human friendly, and I have watched the ducks face off to them and intimidate the pitbulls, (hilarious to watch) and the dogs are actually submissive in front of the ducks, they do not bother the ducks at all, in fact, they avoid them! The ducks also hang out and eat with the chickens. The best quality about them, they do not quack! Love the hissing!
