All of the ducks are so pretty! If I am able to get ducks then I don't know which to pick! I liked the Welsh Harlequins alot but I don't know if my hatchery has any!
My birthday is on August the 4th and that's the day they ship so I might get ducks if not I think I'm getting chickens. They are sold out of runners and Swedish which are the other ones I like.Oh what am I saying I like all ducks!!!
I vote Dutch Hookbill for the friendliest breed, and my favorite.
Please excuse how muddy their run is - it's been really rainy here for the past few weeks, and the ducks wreak havoc in the yard when it's wet! I try to put straw down so they have a clean place to lie down, but they just muck that all up too.
Holderread's is sold out at this point, but Sandhill has a few hatch dates left this year. Of all the breeds I have right now, the Hookbills are the most naturally calm and trusting. Plus, they're pretty rare and they deserve greater world numbers!
I didn't get them because they can fly and they don't lay nearly as many eggs as the Welsh Harlequins. In their favor though...I think their eggs are blue
