Favorite breed?

What's your favorite breed of chicken? I'm looking for more, but not exactly sure what to get.

I love all my girls, but my speckled sussex and brahma are the best. I wish I had a couple more chicks.

Mine are still chicks but so far the friendliest are the Dark Brahmas out of Production Reds and Black Australorps.

Brahmas and Barred Rocks are second and third so far - still many I don't know!

Right now, my Amberlinks are my favorite. Inquisitive, but weary - and I didn't play with them like I have the others. I have Tetra Tints, Brown Leghorns, Red Sexlinks, Black Australorps, Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex, New Hampshires (I think), Barred Rocks (I think) and Old English or Dutch Bantams. I can pick up my Ambers and they nuzzle and close their eyes when I massage behind their ears. My others freak out and I have done a lot with my BAs and EEs. The RSLs and TTs will come up to me and let me pet their chests, but they don't quite like being held like the Ambers.

I have always wanted crested breed chickens. I have owned RIR's, and leghorns. I am finally living my dream and got 22 crested chicks that were delivered today. I am already in love with each and every one of them.

I'm starting into my second week with baby Javas. They are calm, quiet chicks and pretty clean too. So far, I love them.

I started with 6 week-old pullets last May, and have gotten 8 more BAs this spring!!! One seems to be a roo, so hopefully, next year, I will be posting on the hatching eggs forum!!!
Splendid, gorgeous birds, moderately large (but good conversion of feed to eggs), relatively quiet, excellent layers of gorgeous eggs, lovely personalities, and are happy living indoors or out.
We couldn't be happier with our backyard flock of Black Australorps!
