Favorite Chicken Crosses Of Yours

My favorite crosses of mine was what I referred to as the Douglas Whites. They were Orpington/Golden Comets mixed with an EE rescue. Those hens were my top layers of my flock. They were large hens that laid jumbo-sized green to blue eggs. They were all mostly white birds with some weird markings of either blue, red, black, and a few other colors.

Meet Janice. I hatched her last year from a Rhode Island Red hen xEE roo. She lays large khaki colored eggs and is very head strong .

Oh, wow, she looks like she could have been related. Her color pattern was very common in my mix. My hen, Vienna, and rooster, Jose, had similar markings in the first generation, and my Bailey had those markings in the second generation.

I have a hen who I believe to be Rhode Island Red + Black Star + something else.
She is moody, constantly broody and soo pretty. Mostly chestnut coloured with blue under feathers, blue legs, gold on her neck and a black tail. The first hen I've ever known to have spurs. Also the biggest hen in the coop!

Sounds a little bit like a Salmon Faverolle to me (Salmon Faverolles have five toes though) because my salmon Faverolle is a chestnut-red color with bluish under feathers.

Very pretty. I’ve got a little young hen that looks a whole lot like her. She’s the same combo as the white hen Janice. Rhode Island Red crossed with an Americana/EE. she looks like a slightly lighter shade of rir with green legs.
